X3 CMS 0.5.1 - A better place
When you are working on your web application or on your web site and plan to add a new, even small, feature is always a possible break point.
Can be done? How many days of work it will require?
The difference from a good tool and one not so good is all here. This is where you can see the power of X3 CMS.
Mongo DB support
Some developer could be interested to add a Mongo DB database to his project. In X3 CMS you can do that efforlessly.
The support for Mongo DB is now complete. All methods in Db_core and Model_core now can act on MySQL or Mongo DB. So you can create your model and use a NoSQL collection.
Multi languages support
Handle multilanguage sites could be a pain. The import of all dictionaries from a language to another is now very simple with the ALL option: all section will be imported.
Even add a new language in the admin area is simpler:
- install all required plugins
- initialize the area for the new language
- import all the dictionaries from another language.
File manager
Manage files is one of the most important activities: images, videos, templates. Often an image is not correctly sized or a video is not in the right format or a template requires a small adjustment. All those operations now can be done from the admin side.
A new, not centralized, file manager was added to TinyMCE (thanks to Alberto Peripolli for Responsive Filemanager), and you can enable the Adobe service with Aviary.com.
JS and CSS minification
One small and annoing task is the minification of JS and CSS files. Now you can do this with a click on your theme manager.
Remember to do this every time you update your files on line.
Apology
Still no tutorials on the Help On Line. I'm very sorry. No time for this.
Have fun
